We are looking for a Training Specialist II for our client, a large utility company in Charlotte, NC.
Details 36-month W2 contract Hybrid work schedule Travel is REQUIRED and estimated to be 20-40%. The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $45.73 - $47.31 per hour. Must be based in Charlotte Metro area for consideration
Description The initial project assignment is working in a team environment to assess, solution, create, and deliver training content and documentation for the Automated Distribution Management System currently being deployed. Tasks are defined in concept and require creative and effective solutions to resolve independently and in a team environment. The Training Specialist II will need to be able to both develop and to deliver training.
Travel to all operating centers across Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, NC, and FL. Ranges from Plainfield, IN – Cincinnati, OH, Wilmington, NC, St. Petersburg, FL and points in-between. Overnight stays may be required.
A training trip could range from 3-5 days a week. This is over a 13-week period, with some non-travel weeks mixed into each deployment depending on the project schedule.
Responsibilities Demonstrates expertise in a wide range of training products and services to support Division and Team goals. Serves as an internal expert in a discipline-specific or task-based area. Provides expertise and innovation in the research, design, analysis, and administration of assigned functions to achieve business objectives for customer areas. Serves as a subject matter expert for complex training projects in accordance with Division Business processes. Assesses and analyzes training needs during design, development, deployment, and post-deployment phases to ensure sustainability of training purpose and intent. Designs and administers training products and services (e.g., instructor-led, e-learning, train-the-trainer, and end-user training) for assigned projects to achieve Company, Team, and business unit goals. Remains updated on emerging training practices, trends, and methods and ensures their application as appropriate. Attends industry and company-sponsored seminars and conferences; exchanges information with industry professionals; researches journals and periodicals. Works well with cross-functional teams on major projects, process improvement efforts, and virtual collaboration. Supports major outage event responses from an office environment as needed, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications Proficiency with MS productivity applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Teams) Working knowledge of LMS systems, and training development tools such as Articulate Suite (Rise and Storyline), Vyond, Camtasia, and JIRA. Familiarity with safety standards, OMS, ADMS, DMS, CL FISR, Service Suite, Customer Systems, Work Order Processes, and Work Methods. Working knowledge of the electric, energy, and utility sector. Familiarity with the system development life cycle and Agile Project methodology. Proficient in MS Teams and remote collaboration tools. Ability to use personal internet connection for remote work and work onsite three or more days per week as required. Self-motivated under direct and indirect project leadership, often in a matrixed structure, to complete tasks under strict deadlines. Understanding of Agile and other project management fundamentals, outage management systems, event-driven dispatching systems, and the electric distribution/transmission grid. Kirkpatrick and/or ATD certifications or working knowledge of these methods is a plus.
The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $45.73 - $47.31 per hour.
