We are looking for a Packaging Designer for our client, a computer brand in Round Rock Texas.
- This is a 6 month contract with potential to extend up to 3 years
- Fully Onsite (Candidate MUST be local to the Austin Metro area for consideration
- Hours - Standard Monday - Friday 8AM -6PM (Manager is flexible with schedule) *Note there will be some occasional late-night calls
- The pay ranges from $29.94 - $32.81 per hour (with benefits after 60 days)
Description
We are looking for a team player who thrives on creative collaboration while meeting individual design goals within a fast-paced environment
- Participates in the planning, layout, design, web-design and preparation of artwork for inclusion in technical manuals, reports, product brochures, displays and presentations
- Prepares charts, graphs and two- and three-dimensional drawings from rough sketches, models, written or verbal direction and/or engineering drawings
- Selects techniques best suited to produce desired visual effects, and recommends methods and medium to convey desired effect
- Provides illustration/design support for internal and customer documentation
- Collaborates with technical writers, engineers, marketing specialists and others to understand illustration/design requirements
- Evaluates document design, format and file delivery, and suggests innovative approaches to problem-solving
- Serves as graphic advisor in brainstorming sessions and on teams both within and outside the department
- Maintains knowledge of current industry tools Improves and drives implementation of tools and processes to streamline illustration processes
- Leads graphic design projects
- Ensures that graphic design projects are completed on time, within budget and to user’s requirements Works with external vendors
- Provides strategic direction at the project level Provides strategic direction for the current year at the departmental level
Qualifications
- Candidates must have portfolio showcasing packaging design work samples for consideration
- Skilled in graphic printing or 3D modeling or rendering.
- At least 5+ years of experience in: Packaging design experience including Photo retouching, graphic layout, and structure design.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required. Illustrator and Photoshop and In-design experience needed.
- Candidates should be familiar with rendering, visualization, 2D drawing, image editing.
- Knowledge of 3D rendering/CAD for presentation.
- Knowledge of packaging design, printing, materials, and package structure.
The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $29.94 - $32.81 per hour. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
