Position Description
The Speech Writer, Technical Writer/Content Strategist will support USAID in executing its IT strategic plan, ensuring compliance with federal mandates, and positioning its leadership as visionary thinkers in the federal IT space. The successful candidate will provide strategic communications expertise, craft impactful messaging, and deliver high-quality content that highlights USAID's leadership in IT innovation and cybersecurity.

Work Schedule: Hybrid (Occasional onsite meetings)
Clearance: Ability to obtain a facility (FAC) clearance
Responsibilities
The role requires collaboration with senior executives and internal/external stakeholders in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Occasional travel, including CONUS and OCONUS, may be necessary to participate in conferences or IT symposiums.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
- Draft, edit, and distribute executive communications, including speeches, white papers, press releases, and blog posts, highlighting USAID's IT innovations in areas such as AI, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
- Maintain and manage intranet page and other internal communication platforms to ensure delivery of consistent, high-quality content.
- Develop materials for Congressional hearings and briefings, ensuring alignment with USAID's strategic IT vision.
- Identify and secure speaking engagements, forums, and high-visibility conferences to showcase USAID's IT initiatives.
- Monitor media coverage and prepare reports on relevant news and developments.
- Manage social media platforms, creating and scheduling content aligned with USAID objectives.
- Engage in creating a cohesive internal communications strategy to ensure consistent messaging across newsletters, intranet updates, and presentations.
- Foster greater awareness and engagement among staff by integrating key messages across internal channels.
- Ensure alignment with USAID's branding guidelines across all communication materials.
- Collaborate with other USAID offices to unify messaging across the agency's communication efforts.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Management, Communications, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in strategic communications, speech writing, and/or technical writing.
- Demonstrated expertise in IT or cybersecurity-related communications is preferred.
- Experience working with federal agencies or US government contracts is highly desirable.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities, with an emphasis on meeting deadlines.
- Proven ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with federal IT mandates and emerging trends in cybersecurity is a plus.
