What Will You Do?

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the Chief of Party for a Communication and Knowledge Management Activity funded under USAID's NextGen Comprehensive Technical Assistance Task Order. The project aims to enhance collaboration, communication, knowledge sharing and monitoring and evaluation across USAID's suite of NextGen Supply chain awards. As the Chief of Party, you will lead a team of experts in ensuring the systematic and harmonized collection, analysis, synthesis, reporting and dissemination of results and learning from across the entire suite of NextGen awards. This will include support to NextGen awards, USAID/Washington DC and USAID Missions for effective communication, knowledge sharing, collaboration, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and facilitation of learning and knowledge sharing across all USAID NextGen Suite of Programs.

Important note:

This is a full-time proposal position contingent on contract award.

Responsibilities:
    • Provide strategic leadership and vision to the project team, ensuring effective collaboration with NextGen awards, USAID/W, and USAID Missions.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive learning and collaboration strategy, aligning with the project's objectives and USAID's goals.
    • Ensures knowledge is systematically captured, analyzed, and applied, helping USAID communicate its successes while informing global evidence bases.
    • Provide overall technical leadership, management, and strategic direction across all activities and oversee team performance in pursuit of the objectives.
    • Provide vision and lead development and execution of the overarching strategy.
    • Responsible for managing the overall operations on the contract, which may include, but are not limited to, communications, administration, logistics, procurement, staffing/recruitment, budgeting, finances, and reporting.
    • Lead the design of semi-annual work plans, activity work plans, and ad hoc activity work plans in close collaboration with USAID.
    • Lead work plan development through adaptive and collaborative processes, oversee workplan implementation, responsively adapting to changes and lessons learned throughout implementation.
    • Ensure the collection, analysis, and synthesis of data and learning from NextGen awards, and develop actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including USAID/W, USAID Missions, and NextGen award implementers.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and learning within the project team and among partner organizations.
    • Represent the project in various forums, including meetings with USAID, other donors, and stakeholders.


Qualifications:
    • Advanced degree (Master's, or Ph.D. preferred) in a relevant field, such as international development, monitoring and evaluation, or organizational learning.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in international development, with a focus on M&E, learning, and collaboration.
    • Knowledge of USAID's supply chain investments.
    • Proven experience in leading complex projects and teams, with a strong track record of achieving results in challenging environments.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
    • Experience working with USAID or other international donors, with a strong understanding of their policies and procedures.
    • Familiarity with M&E frameworks, data analysis, and knowledge management principles.
    • Ability to travel internationally (up to 20% of the time).
    • Experience with data visualization and communication of complex data insights.


Nice to Haves:
    • Experience working on projects related to NextGen awards or similar initiatives.
    • Familiarity with design thinking and innovation methodologies.
    • Fluency in a second language (preferably French, Spanish, or Portuguese).


$180,000 - $195,000 a year
