The other retailing units of VGL Group are in the UK (Shop TJC) and Germany (Shop LC, Germany). Your Purchase Feeds... has current run rate of over 54,000 meals per school day and has provided over 50 million meals to kids in need in US, UK and India until now. Our mission statement embraces the ambitious goal of distributing one million meals each school day to children in need by 2040. Sr. Content Manager
The Sr. Content Manager will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive content strategy for our eCommerce website. This role involves creating engaging, SEO-optimized content that enhances the user experience, drives conversions, and aligns with the overall brand message. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in eCommerce content management, a passion for storytelling, and the ability to lead a team of content specialists.
The Sr. Content Manager will directly report to the VP - Commercial Operations of Shop LC.
Work Location is 100 Michael Angelo Way, Austin TX.
The following are the primary job responsibilities for the role:
- Content Strategy: Develop and implement a content strategy tailored to the eCommerce platform, focusing on product descriptions, category pages, landing pages, and other key areas of the website.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of content creators, including copywriters, editors, and designers, ensuring all website content is engaging, accurate, and optimized for SEO.
- Content Creation: Oversee the creation and enhancement of website content, including product descriptions, category pages, banners, and promotional content to drive traffic and conversions.
- SEO Optimization: Implement and maintain SEO best practices to improve the website's search engine rankings and enhance the customer journey.
- Content Management: Use content management systems (CMS) to publish, update, and manage website content, ensuring consistency and alignment with brand standards.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze website content performance using tools like Google Analytics, making data-driven decisions to optimize and improve user engagement and sales.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the E-commerce, Marketing, Product, and Design teams to ensure cohesive content strategies and support key campaigns and product launches.
- Content Calendar: Develop and maintain a content calendar specific to the eCommerce platform, planning seasonal, promotional, and evergreen content to keep the website fresh and relevant.
- Innovation: Stay up-to-date with eCommerce trends, emerging technologies, and content marketing best practices to continuously improve the website's content strategy.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, E-commerce, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in content management, with a focus on eCommerce websites in a leadership role.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a deep understanding of eCommerce content needs.
- Expertise in SEO and eCommerce content strategies.
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and web analytics tools.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of user experience (UX) and digital merchandising principles.
