This position will require you to be in the Greater Cleveland, OH Area
We are presently in a hybrid schedule, 2 days on campus and 3 days WFH


The Content Programming Manager works in close collaboration with other members of the Content Team, as well as the Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to support enterprise content goals. An experienced content curator with a passion for end user experiences, your intimate knowledge of books and strategic insights across trends in reading, publishing, audience engagement, and content usage will help drive content decision-making and will deliver on company goals for engagement, revenue, and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing leadership to deeply understand school and library partner and audience needs and behavior and leverage those insights to inform content merchandising and programming initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Content Team to identify and organize weekly and monthly merchandising activities and with Marketing and Sales teams to align efforts across campaign and initiative materials and communications.
  • Interfaces with and coordinates input across Content Leadership regarding merchandising priorities and to align supplier expectations with programming initiatives.
  • Lead and manage programming activities. Assign and assess team work, define projects and timelines, and dive in as needed to provide hands-on guidance and execution.
  • Responsible for hiring, on-boarding, and training new team members, coaching team to excellent performance, and managing performance issues as appropriate.
  • Motivates team and helps the team seek opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Develops and maintains cross-team relationships seeking out collaboration and feedback to drive successful outcomes.
  • Works cross-functionally with team and peers to solve issues that impact the department; develop and implement processes and solutions that make the team's workload more efficient and effective.
  • Utilize existing datasets to create comprehensive performance reports and actionable insights.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of current performance metrics and suggest enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Content Team leadership and cross-functional teams in the development new analytics and insights.
  • Leverages strong team relationships to influence supplier participation in content-related marketing.
  • Develops and maintains key industry relationships through participation in industry work-groups and activities.
  • As a member of the leadership team, demonstrates thorough decisions, actions and words in commitment to OverDrive's mission and our sustainability and community outreach initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in publishing, book selling, marketing
  • 2+ years of leadership/management experience.
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Research and analysis skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing tasks.
  • Knowledge of the book, publishing, entertainment, library, music, and digital media industry.
  • Well organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Management / Leadership skills.
