Summary

The Instructional Multimedia Intern will work closely with Instructional Multimedia Specialist to produce engaging, video-based learning content as part of online, hybrid, or training course development. This position will work closely with the instructional design team, maintaining an adaptable yet accountable media production workflow, and providing course media support as needed. This is a paid intern position aimed at SXU juniors and seniors. This position will directly report to Instructional Multimedia Specialist.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Effectively communicate, collaborate, and support Instructional Multimedia in planning, designing, creating, and producing instructional media and video-based learning content
- Facilitate Instructional Multimedia Specialist to manage the Instructional Recording Studio, all of its assets, and their distribution.
- Communicate regularly with the instructional design team regarding project status
- Select, setup and operate video recording equipment, including audio and lighting systems in the studio.
- Facilitate in creating compelling video narrative through filming and editing of engaging multimedia content
- Facilitate in creating training materials on how to use instructional studio
- Ensure video content is properly loaded to applicable repositories and are provided to the instructional design team.
- Troubleshoot equipment failure and software issues
- Research and maintain knowledge of evolving media forms, trends, new technologies, techniques, and applications for higher education
- Other duties assigned.
Qualifications

MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY

Federal Work Study is REQUIRED

- Experienced with: a. Editing - Preferred editing with demonstrated experience using Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and After Effects) and Camtasia b. Equipment - Preferred field and studio production setup and operation including professional lighting, camera, and sound equipment
- Collaboration - demonstrated ability to collaborate with people from a wide variety of skill sets and backgrounds via written or oral communication
- Flexibility and Adaptability - Ability to work quickly, effectively, and flexibly in a deadline driven environment
- Proficiency with multimedia (audio/video/graphic) and word processing skills on both PC and Mac platforms
- Proficiency with graphic design
- Experience with a wide range of technology resources and their appropriate application to teaching and learning
- Excellent communications, understanding, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical terminologies and material in a straightforward manner
- Ability to effectively work in a collaborative team environment and also independently
