Program Eligibility:
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited two or four-year college/university in the United States, pursing an undergraduate, graduate and/or law degree
  • Graduating between Spring 2025 - Fall 2027
  • Have access to housing and transportation within the designated city (We do not offer housing accommodations)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future (e.g., H1-B, OPT, etc.)
  • Commit to 20 - 40 hours per week (based on individual business area)

Commercial Services: Commercial Partnerships (CA):

How You'll CREATE:

UMG Commercial Partnerships are the support organization for all owned and associated labels as well as UMG business divisions relating to the commercial exploitation of content. As a cross functional team, we're the nexus of execution working collaboratively with Labels, Digital Strategy, Production, Supply Chain/Customer Service, Content Protection, Rights Management, Global Insights, Data & Analytics and external industry partners
  • Label Support: Liaison with account management team to field both owned and distributed label partners' day-to-day requests such as DSP profile optimization, ad-hoc sales reporting, troubleshooting product delivery issues, and other operational support tasks.
  • Account Management: Provide label partners with account-specific operational support, collect & communicate advanced links for RUSH releases, track & identify social media trends and provide summary to internal team.
  • Release Admin & Planning: Assist in identifying & communicating UMG's upcoming New Releases, working with owned & distributed labels to collect assets, organize pitch details, and communicate priorities to partners. Track, identify & summarize social media trends for internal team.


Ideal candidates will have:
  • Experience with analytics, search engine and social media marketing is a plus.
  • Strong interest in music and pop culture is a must!


Corporate Communication: Global Impact Group (NY):

Corporate Communication: Sustainability/ESG (NY):

How You'll CREATE:

The Sustainability/ESG team leads UMG's global environmental action, including accounting for and reducing negative environmental impacts, creating positive environmental impacts, and telling our story through formal reporting other communications. We are a small team with 3 members in New York, one on the West Coast and one in the Netherlands.
  • Organize and optimize upcoming disclosure activities
  • Organize volunteer programs for our impact ambassadors worldwide


Ideal candidates will have:
  • Sustainability interest and/or coursework is preferred


Finance: Corporate Development & Strategy (CA):

How You'll CREATE:

The group serves Universal Music Group's executive leadership, business units/labels and internal stakeholders with projects that span across M&A, strategic planning, industry research, artist deals, new business ventures, internal consulting, among others.
  • Analyze third-party financial projections in the music industry
  • Discover comparable music artists and analyze performance / trends
  • Perform strategic research project(s) including due diligence and presentation
  • Support ad-hoc financial analyses


Ideal candidates will have:
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts


Global Finance (CA):

How You'll CREATE:

The Commercial Services Finance team at the Universal Music Group is a dynamic team that drives the Finance, Planning and Analysis functions across UMG's Commercial Services division; including our third party distributed labels, UMG for Brands, eCommerce, Marketing and °1824 business units.
  • Support with FP&A (financial planning and analysis) activities
  • Month-end close activities
  • Administrative finance tasks such as updating finance trackers, managing budget approval documents, etc.


Global Revenue Royalty Operation: US Royalties & Copyright:

How You'll CREATE:

US Royalties & Copyright (USRC) is the largest local royalties' group and is based in Los Angeles. USRC is responsible for the collection and distribution of income from royalties owed to UMG's Artists and Publishers. USRC is creating Playbooks that will play a vital role in the day-to-day processes for current employees as well as being utilized as a training tool for new employees. These Playbooks will provide a full understanding of the world of royalties and how artists and publishers receive their income.

Ideal candidates will have:
  • Proficient writing, proofreading, and editing abilities
  • Knowledge of OneNote
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Not afraid to ask questions!


NA Finance: Central Operations:

How You'll CREATE:

The Central Operations business unit houses all overhead costs associated with UMG. In addition, Central Ops coordinates with the respective business unit on forecasting and budgeting any associated costs.
  • Assist the central ops team with inputting actuals for month end close.
  • Prepare templates for the forecast and budget meetings.
  • Assist with payment packages. Organize org charts.


Ideal candidates will have:
  • Professionalism when communicating with outside vendors


NA Finance: Financial Operations - US Compliance & Controls:

How You'll CREATE:

The US Compliance & Controls Department is responsible for ensuring the the company's financial reporting risks are adequately covered in the US. As part of the department's activities, the department works with various UMG US Business Units gaining an understanding of their processes and testing relevant controls to address financial risks.
  • Assist with updating walkthrough of certain controls as part of the annual US Compliance Program
  • Assist with updating policies
  • Assist with updating US Compliance SharePoint
  • Assist with Ad-Hoc Tasks as needed


Ideal candidates will have:
  • Business-related background (preferably accounting/finance)
  • Critical/Analytical thinker


NA Finance: FP&A (CA):

How You'll CREATE:

The North America FP&A team is responsible for consolidating and reviewing the financial results from various UMG labels and central entities. We work with the label finance teams to understand variance explanations, forecast trends, and develop financial goals. Additionally, we provide the CFO and other executives with various ad hoc analyses.
  • Updating/maintaining deliverable checklists
  • Refreshing and updating month-end close reports
  • Analyzing and summarizing financial results
  • Creating ad hoc financial models and reports
  • Researching variance drivers and asking business partners for relevant follow-up details


Ideal candidates will have:
  • Experience in financial modeling
  • Ability to condense financial findings in a high-level executive summary
