Business Process Change:
How You'll CREATE:
The Business Process Change (BPC) team acts as a critical bridge between the Global Technology and Administration teams, ensuring smooth transitions and effective adoption of new systems and updates. This team is responsible for managing key aspects of the change process including: User Acceptance Testing, System Update Communication, Development Prioritization, System Training & Product Rollout and Product Support.

Cloud Engineering and Architecture:
How You'll CREATE:
Cloud Engineering and Architecture oversees and guides the UMG Cloud Landscape. This includes AWS, GCP and AZR. The team works to address operations, security, deployment, architecture and the greater health of UMG's cloud landscape.
The goal is for each intern to take their assigned stack and work with the team lead to assess, gain a view of their landscape and identify potential areas of maturation, optimization and innovation. Then they will work together to paint a consolidated picture that includes their combined learnings of what is in place, opportunities for maturation and lessons learned.

Collaboration Technology - User Experience:

The Tech User Experience team focuses on both internal and external users of UMG's tools and systems. Through a combination of comprehensive user research and product design thinking, the team supports tech change management to improve efficiency and productivity of UMG teams.

Global Security:
How You'll CREATE:
The Global Security Office provides digital and physical support to various projects and activities throughout UMG by aligning with business requirements regarding security and focusing on delivering strategic value.

Global Tech Support (Onsite: CA, NY, TN):
How You'll CREATE:
Tech Support provides front-line support to end users on a variety of differing issues; identifying, researching, and resolving technical issues that are raised. The team documents, communicates, tracks and monitors all incoming calls, incidents and requests to ensure a timely response and resolution.

IT Collaboration:

IT Collaboration oversees all technology collaboration tools for project management, file sharing, storage and visual.

Music & Audio Machine Learning Lab (MAML):
How You'll CREATE:
The MAML is UMG's AI development team. We design, build, and deploy AI models to support UMG globally. The intern will be assigned a project involving designing, developing and evaluating AI models. The intern will work with the rest of the team to brainstorm ideas and communicate results.

User Enablement/Communications:

The User Enablement/Communications group supports UMG's Global Technology group through various functions, including internal communications, live training sessions on systems used globally, creating and managing training materials for those systems, and assisting the tech project leads on testing of new tech functions to support the business.

Tech Security (Application Security):

UMG Application Security is responsible for performing design reviews, technical security assessments, code reviews to highlight risk and help engineering teams improve the overall security of our products.

The Tech Security department houses the Identity & Access Management functions of UMG and is integral in the cybersecurity landscape. Our team ensures that all applications use centralized authentication and that account access for those applications are properly authorized. UMG Vulnerability Management drives the resolution of all identified IT vulnerabilities to ensure the smooth and efficient ongoing operation of the UMG Global infrastructure.

$13-$25 per hour
The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. All candidates are encouraged to apply.
Program Eligibility:
- Currently enrolled at an accredited two or four-year college/university in the United States, pursing an undergraduate, graduate and/or law degree
- Graduating between Spring 2025 - Fall 2027
- Have access to housing and transportation within the designated city (We do not offer housing accommodations)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future (e.g., H1-B, OPT, etc.)
- Commit to 20 - 40 hours per week (based on individual business area)

Collaboration Technology - User Experience:
How You'll CREATE:
The Tech User Experience team focuses on both internal and external users of UMG's tools and systems. Through a combination of comprehensive user research and product design thinking, the team supports tech change management to improve efficiency and productivity of UMG teams.
- Consulting with internal users to understand their goals
- Explaining research results to stakeholders and collaboration teams
- Analyzing user feedback and iterating to enhance the user experience
- Assisting with content development and user training
- Researching user personas and investigating user behavior
- Conducting user interviews, virtually or remotely
- Survey design and creation, conducting usability tests and carrying out other research tasks with end-users
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience with UX tools for design (Figma) and/or research (User Testing)
- Knowledge of how to use project/task management tools
- Basic knowledge of or interest in the music industry
Global Security:

The Global Security Office provides digital and physical support to various projects and activities throughout UMG by aligning with business requirements regarding security and focusing on delivering strategic value.
- SecOps: Incident Response, Vulnerability Management and Asset Validation

Global Tech Support (Onsite: CA, NY, TN):
How You'll CREATE:
Tech Support provides front-line support to end users on a variety of differing issues; identifying, researching, and resolving technical issues that are raised. The team documents, communicates, tracks and monitors all incoming calls, incidents and requests to ensure a timely response and resolution.
- Work with and provide support to other Global Tech and local IT teams
- Moves and Changes: Ad-hoc and planned relocations of IT equipment
- Install and configure computer and VC hardware and software
- Building and configuring computers using Microsoft SCCM/InTune/JAMF
- Perform PC/Mac/iPhone/Android technical assistance
- Inventory, recycling, software updates and program/security auditing projects
- Assist with Windows 11 migration
Ideal candidates will have:
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite of products
- Mac and PC hardware troubleshooting and deployment skills
- Be analytical and able to problem solve and troubleshoot across a wide range of technologies
IT Collaboration:
How You'll CREATE:
IT Collaboration oversees all technology collaboration tools for project management, file sharing, storage and visual.
- Data organization, retention, and documentation
- Automation and workflow identification (process analysis to identify additional opportunities to automate tasks)
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience working with multiple SaaS tools, workflow builder tools, collaboration tools such as Teams, Slack, project management tools such as Lists, To-Do, Planner, Monday.com and Office 365 suite including PowerBI
Music & Audio Machine Learning Lab (MAML):
How You'll CREATE:
The MAML is UMG's AI development team. We design, build, and deploy AI models to support UMG globally. The intern will be assigned a project involving designing, developing and evaluating AI models. The intern will work with the rest of the team to brainstorm ideas and communicate results.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Proficiency in modern AI/ML model design, training, and evaluation
- Strong understanding of audio signal processing
- Experience in music AI
User Enablement/Communications:
How You'll CREATE:
The User Enablement/Communications group supports UMG's Global Technology group through various functions, including internal communications, live training sessions on systems used globally, creating and managing training materials for those systems, and assisting the tech project leads on testing of new tech functions to support the business.
- Contribution to Tech News articles on a bi-weekly basis
- Support of training materials for new tech initiatives
- Support of CIO comms, especially around monthly all-hands meetings
- Participate in user enablement functions, including testing of tech systems and support of training materials around those systems (written, live and video)
- Strategize training and communications plans around the launch of those initiatives
- Some SharePoint page building for new systems/training
- Some video editing support for training materials likely
Ideal candidates will have:
- Strong writing skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Suite
- Some experience in basic video editing (iMovie, CapCut, etc. is ok)
- Strong research capabilities
Tech Security (Application Security):
How You'll CREATE:
UMG Application Security is responsible for performing design reviews, technical security assessments, code reviews to highlight risk and help engineering teams improve the overall security of our products.
- Support Application Security with various tasks to push team capabilities to the next level
- Participate in the annual intern project
- Learn how corporate security initiatives function at a global corporation via daily interaction

Tech Security :
How You'll CREATE:
The Tech Security department houses the Identity & Access Management functions of UMG and is integral in the cybersecurity landscape. Our team ensures that all applications use centralized authentication and that account access for those applications are properly authorized. The team spans from highly technical engineering roles to business analyst and project management type roles.
- Help coordinate and enhance our client secret rotation process
- Observe authentication and authorization design sessions
- Present current status of our projects to the Tech Security department
- Build presentations for Global Tech Forum
Vulnerability Management:
How You'll CREATE:
UMG Vulnerability Management drives the resolution of all identified IT vulnerabilities to ensure the smooth and efficient ongoing operation of the UMG Global infrastructure.
- Drive resolution of identified vulnerabilities
- Work with internal customers, teammates and third party providers to ensure operational security
- Communicate risk and remediation requirements clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ideal candidates will have:
- Knowledge of vulnerability assessment, patch management processes and tools
- Experience with operating system administration and tools including Microsoft, Mac OS X, Linux
