POLITICO is seeking ambitious, high-impact reporters to cover the political and policy dynamics of Congress.
Lively, urgent and indispensable reporting on Capitol Hill is central to POLITICO's mission.
We're looking for journalists that can help write a new chapter in our coverage of Congress, reporting on power dynamics and legislating, including relationships between congressional leaders, key Hill power-brokers, the rank-and-file in the House and Senate, the White House, the business community and state leaders.
Ideal candidates are curious, nimble reporters excited about tackling one of the best beats in Washington - whether it's ferreting out the next move on a major bill, pinpointing tensions between factions or unpacking a leadership race.
This position will write news and enterprise stories that appear across all of POLITICO's platforms. Eagerness to contribute on a driven team and to collaborate with reporters and editors across POLITICO's newsroom is a must.
What you'll need:
- Strong reporting skills, with a track record of smart, sophisticated stories that drive the conversation
- An established ability to write clearly and accurately on deadline, both breaking news and broader enterprise stories
- Proven ability to handle a demanding, fast-moving reporting job
- An energetic approach to developing sources and scoops
