Senior Lead, Visual Design, Apple Services Engineering
The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) team is one of the most exciting examples of Apple’s long-held passion for combining art and technology. These are the people who power the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Books, and iCloud, among other services. And they do it on a massive scale, meeting Apple’s high expectations with high performance to deliver a variety of entertainment in over 35 languages to more than 150 countries.
We are looking for an experienced senior designer to lead creative strategy and execution for ASE internal content and initiatives. The ideal candidate is passionate about working collaboratively with partners to translate business objectives into simple and compelling visual narratives. You will design Keynote presentations and graphics for in-person and virtual events, meetings, and conferences that inform, inspire, and motivate ASE teams, partners, and leadership around the world. This role requires an expert grasp of storytelling architecture within presentations, an understanding of information design, and a solid understanding of the Apple brand.
Description
In this role, you will lead creative for Apple Services Engineering and provide design support to various teams and senior executives, who communicate with a global engineering audience. You will help design stories that inspire and move audiences, using many disciplines: Keynote design, document design, environmental design, photography, illustration, motion graphics, copy, and more. You’ll collaborate directly with our senior leaders and work closely with strategists, writers, and subject matter experts across ASE. You will be joining a communications team within ASE where your work will help increase employee engagement in a rapidly growing area of our business. Strong time and project management skills are essential, along with a sharp eye for detail; in fact, you possess a desire to get the details just right every single time. The successful candidate will quickly turn complex ideas into simplified and beautiful creative solutions. You will drive projects forward independently, designing clear and inspiring presentation segments for our meetings and events — from concept to delivery. You will deliver design for our internal website and support the channel’s content management. You are also highly collaborative, flexible, and proactive, with a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and the ability to influence stakeholders to effective outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years in a professional design/creative environment.
- Mastery of Keynote, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Motion graphics experience; proficiency in After Effects or similar.
- Website design and content management experience.
- Video editing and production experience.
- Demonstrated use of design principles via portfolio: typography, layout, balance, proportion, rhythm, emphasis, and unity.

- Deep understanding of visual storytelling across platforms and formats.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience presenting creative concepts to leadership.
- Solid understanding of Apple’s aesthetic, and the ability to champion the brand at every touchpoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to develop creative solutions and designs under tight timelines.
- Ability to work and design collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to create compelling visual content that sharpens understanding of data, business concepts, and strategy.
- Excellent time and project management skills, able to juggle multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
- Discreet when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Experience working with Software Engineers.
- MUST provide link to portfolio that demonstrates strong concepts and execution.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $133,900 and $201,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
