The Writing Center's administrative assistant works closely with and under the guidance of the director to assist with moderately complex and confidential administrative support duties, particularly tasks related to personnel and employment processes, outreach and events, inventory and purchasing, reports, and maintaining foundational files. Summary of Responsibilities • Assists with internal and external Writing Center communication including weekly staff communication, hiring communication, and website maintenance. • Assists with Writing Center finances including inventory, purchasing, budgets, and reconciling expenditures. • Assists with preparing, updating, and maintaining foundational documents and online and physical files. • Assists in scheduling and coordinating meetings, events, appointments, interviews, and/or other similar activities. • Helps maintain the physical space of the Writing Center, including assisting with reporting and resolving technology and facilities issues. • Assists with other duties as assigned Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate's degree and one year of experience or any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling three years. Preferred Qualifications Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Knowledge • Knowledge of general office management. • Knowledge and general experience working in an educational environment. Skills • Skills in using computers and computer software applications, including Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), e-mail, and databases. • Skills in organization, database management, and coordination. • Skills in record management and general data analysis. • Skills in coordination and preparation of events.
