Role

Your primary responsibility as an Associate Executive Producer is to oversee all aspects of a project life cycle from start to finish and contribute to the evolution of operational models as well as the growth of key accounts. In this role, you will support studio-wide projects with a focus on growing the Google account.

This position serves as a bridge between senior and executive-level Production, providing account leadership with clients and serving as a valuable project team member, steering the ship with strategic and creative oversight. Whether producing individual projects or overseeing programs, you play a pivotal role in delivering production excellence across project types.

As Associate Executive Producer, you will work closely with the Director of Creative Production to establish bespoke project plans—scoping and pitching tailored approaches for branding, design, illustration, and motion video projects. You will field incoming opportunities with handoffs from sales, manage pitches alongside marketing, and oversee the scoping of projects, collaborating with Senior Producers as needed. You act as a key collaborator and relationship builder with artists, including directors, illustrators, and photographers, fostering positive working relationships and motivating teams to deliver their best creative work.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day of active projects assigned to you.
  • Kick-off new projects, lead scoping and bidding, execute creative briefs, and provide detailed information to the team.
  • With approved scopes, resource teams of internal and external creative roles, including negotiating rates, contracts, and team onboarding.
  • Approach jobs with an awareness and keen eye toward profit and loss, making strategic recommendations that balance the best utilization of resources and profit performance by job.
  • Successfully lead a project team, both internally and externally, actively deciding which tasks to delegate and which to own.
  • Supervise and support Senior Producers in all stages of design projects from creative concepting through iterations and final delivery.
  • Maintain a positive moral and collaborative spirit with the creative team and client team.
  • Navigate project ambiguity and anticipate roadblocks calmly, confidently, and with poise.
  • Manage clients and maintain friendly and productive lines of communication at all times.
  • Become fluent in brand guidelines and strategy for each client to establish a trusting relationship between the client and the creative team.
  • Acquire proper internal and client approvals to ensure smooth and timely project execution.
  • Work closely with the Director of Creative Production on project setup, key decisions, negotiations, and strategies.
  • Partner with internal and external resources to generate estimates.
  • Lead the art buying process by sourcing, expanding, and establishing relationships with creative partners - designers, strategists, writers, motion designers, illustrators, and more.
  • Effectively participate in creative and conceptual brainstorming sessions.
  • Ensure and maintain responsibility for clean, efficient, and timely wraps for all jobs assigned to your team. This includes accounting reconciliation, archiving, and final delivery to the client.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients.
  • Offer refinements and improvements to the creative development and design processes.
  • Remain current on company practices and always deliver work “on brand” for the studio.

Requirements (Skills & Experience)

  • Minimum 6+ years as a Project Manager, Program Manager, or Producer in a creative agency, with proven success in high-quality production and storytelling.
  • Direct experience leading creative strategy, design, and campaigns from scoping to final delivery. Expertise in brand design/identity projects and video production.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities in a fast-changing environment.
  • Track record of generating repeat business and translating client briefs into actionable project plans independently.
  • Exceptional skills in presenting project plans, creative opportunities, and interfacing with executive-level clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong team-building abilities with effective input across diverse contributors and stakeholders.
  • Proven success in leading communication with internal production teams, clients, and vendors at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability in conflict resolution, risk management, and creative problem-solving.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments, balancing multiple ongoing projects with an entrepreneurial and self-starter mindset.
  • Skilled in Google Suite and various presentation software.
