Responsibilities:
- Prepare and prosecute patent applications for a variety of clients in technology sectors such as software, AI, IoT, networking, and quantum technologies.
- Conduct detailed analysis of technical inventions to determine patentability.
- Draft clear and comprehensive patent specifications, claims, and amendments.
- Communicate with clients to understand their business goals and technological advancements.
- Collaborate with technical experts and inventors to craft and refine patent strategies.
- Work with the USPTO and foreign patent offices to navigate the patent prosecution process.
- Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
- Stay up to date with changes in patent law and emerging technologies.
- Guide clients on patent portfolio management.
- Participate in patent litigation support when required.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution, preferably within a law firm setting.
- A degree in physics, electrical engineering, or computer science is required.
- Hands-on experience with software-related technologies, artificial intelligence, IoT, networking, or quantum technologies.
- Strong academic performance with a proven track record of technical proficiency.
- JD degree from an accredited law school.
- Active admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
- Admission to the California State Bar (or willingness to take the California Bar exam if admitted elsewhere).
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in drafting and prosecuting patents related to:
- Software-related technologies.
- Artificial intelligence.
- Internet of Things (IoT) and networking technologies.
- Quantum computing or related fields.

Education:
- JD from an accredited law school.
