Job Description
This position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.' The TALL Embark Content Specialist is an entry support level individual contributor responsible for helping create language materials for specified language(s). Works with a team of other content specialists and translators to ensure accurate language materials.
Responsibilities
Reports to supervisor or manager level in Training Department
Supports quality control projects and collaborates with native speakers to ensure all materials are culturally and linguistically accurate
Uploads language content into database and edits where necessary
Oversees translations and audio recording of words and phrases of around 10 languages
Provides instruction, direction, counsel, and feedback pertaining to language curriculum materials
Utilizes networking skills and language proficiency to collaborate with native speakers
Communicates and coordinates with native speakers to gather translations and audio
Writes and edits language materials
Works on special content projects
Works with a team of 4-8 individuals
Receives direction from supervisor and implement feedback into work
Works with Google Drive, Google Sheets and Adobe Audition software applications
Communicates regularly with supervisor and other managers on progress of language curriculum products.

Qualifications
Required:
Strong knowledge of a second language (speaking, reading, writing, translation, and grammar)
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong writing/editing ability in a second language and in English
Ability to receive and implement feedback
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using monitors/equipment.
Preferred:
Familiarity with MTC curriculum and practices
1 year of experience with teaching a foreign language
1 year of experience using Embark and print materials
Understanding of linguistic systems (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, etc.)
1 year of experience with Google Sheets formulas and SQL queries
1 years of experience with one of the following languages: Georgian, Burmese, Mandarin, Japanese, Cantonese, Thai, Polish, Finnish, Slovak, Greek
