Job Summary
GAS Global is looking for a Communications Specialist who will provide comprehensive field support for physical security technology across all regions. This role demands a highly motivated individual capable of working independently. The position will play a crucial role in the Video Management System (VMS) Replacement project.
Job Description
Provide ongoing support, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting for various video surveillance systems, including servers, IP and analog cameras, and video encoders.
Assist field communication technicians with the migration to the new VMS and the replacement of servers.
Offer first-level training and support to field communication technicians and end-users to ensure smooth operation and understanding of the VMS.
Perform extensive data entry and manage configurations for the new VMS system, including setting up cameras and server operating systems.
Conduct regular audits of VMS users, groups, maps, and views to ensure system integrity and security.
Perform thorough pre-deployment checks on servers to ensure readiness and functionality before field deployment.
Skills Required
Minimum of 2 years of experience in video surveillance, or 5 years of general IT experience.
Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to various applications and systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
Ability to work independently without direct supervision, effectively prioritizing and managing assigned tasks.
Strong ability to interact with internal and external teams/clients to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical users.
A customer-focused approach to support and training, ensuring user satisfaction and system usability.
Basic project management skills to assist in coordinating VMS migration and server replacement activities.
Education/Training/Certifications
An associate degree in IT
