Position Summary
As a Broadcast Engineer, you will design and commission advanced AV systems for broadcast and post-production events. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will define system requirements, implement innovative technologies, and provide expert troubleshooting and support. This role includes creating technical documentation, evaluating emerging technologies, and contributing to business development by identifying and pursuing new opportunities.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, commission, and implement AV systems, integrating cutting-edge technologies to enhance performance.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain AV systems, ensuring high reliability and functionality.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and technical teams to identify new business opportunities and refine system solutions.
  • Develop detailed technical documentation, including schematics, system designs, and user manuals.
  • Manage project budgets, cost estimates, and timelines while overseeing multiple projects.
  • Stay current with industry trends, standards, and technologies, participating in relevant events and training.

What We’re Looking For

  • Expertise in broadcast industry standards, professional AV equipment, and IP-based video transport technologies (e.g., SMPTE 2110, NDI, SRT).
  • Familiarity with virtual production systems, control/automation systems, and digital video/audio formats.
  • Bachelor’s or Technical Degree (E.E., E.E.T., or equivalent) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Advanced problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Certifications or membership in professional organizations (e.g., SBE, SMPTE) are a plus.

Physical Requirements This position encompasses a combination of office and field responsibilities, necessitating both physical and mental capabilities to effectively fulfill the job requirements. The employee should be prepared for a dynamic work environment that may involve extended periods of sitting while operating office equipment, as well as occasional standing, walking, reaching, and lifting objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Field duties may require climbing ladders, working in various weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, or environmental elements. The employee should possess adequate manual dexterity, eyesight, and proficiency in using standard office tools such as computers, printers, and telephones for tasks involving reading, writing, interpreting, and managing paperwork. Effective communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing work settings are essential. This role may also involve occasional travel, including overnight stays, requiring flexibility in working hours and commitments. Safety protocols must be followed at all times to ensure a secure work environment.
