POSITION TITLE: Game Development Adjunct
DEPARTMENT: Division of Communication, Animation and Technology
POSITION STATUS: Adjunct
POSITION REPORTS TO: Program Director
JOB SUMMARY: Instructor is responsible for teaching students the techniques and pipelines within the Video Game field. Instructor will deliver course materials twice weekly to the class at the defined course time. Courses vary from game engine programming, game development, and game theory.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Teach course content during the scheduled course time (typically 2.5 hours per week)
- Grade student projects and assignments in a timely manner (typically 1-3 hours per week)
- Constructively critique student work for improvement.
- Provide students with additional learning materials and opportunities.
- Teach to the program outcomes.
- Teach to an agreed upon syllabus with the Program Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Master’s degree in related field OR
- Bachelor’s degree in related field with +3 years of professional experience
Experience:
- +3 years working in video game or application development related field.
- Managing team-based projects.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in C# programming language.
- Expertise in the Unity 3D Game Engine.
- Experience with multiplatform deployment.
- Knowledge of entire game development pipeline.
- Knowledge of Unreal Engine a plus.
- Knowledge of project management methods such as SCRUM and Agile a plus.
