Responsibilities include:

  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
  • Analyzing large amounts of data from multiple sources, including but not limited to: segmentation datasets, government databases, Census data, and primary survey data, with a heavy focus on geographic-level data
  • Interpreting complex data to identify patterns and actionable insights
  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
  • Presenting data science/analytics research findings to communication audiences and clients
  • Leading the preparation of reports, presentation decks, and other internal and external communications summarizing analytics data and implications for campaign strategy
  • Regularly interfacing with campaign teams to represent findings and discuss potential implications
  • Working closely with the project team on a day-to-day basis and working under tight deadlines to fulfill client requests
  • Communicating effectively and professionally with stakeholders with varying ranges of research knowledge and experience, including tailoring materials for different levels of audience, both technical and non-technical
  • Anticipating potential barriers to project completion, proposing solutions to team leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years relevant experience with data science, segmentation, or communications planning
  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, data science, public health, statistics, marketing or related field
  • Expertise in statistical analysis languages such as R
  • Proficiency in GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS)
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Experience with SQL and database management systems. PostgresSQL is preferred.
  • Database and ETL systems to query and extract data
  • Data science experienced including supervised, semi-supervised, and unsupervised models; generalized linear/additive models; mixed models; random forest; clustering techniques; Bayesian approaches; cross-validation and model performance evaluation
  • Experience working with large, complex, and nuanced datasets
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills
  • Curiosity and a desire to learn
  • Applicants may be subject to a low-level government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and consent to a full background check due to our federal contract requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters / PHD in social science, data science, public health, statistics, or marketing
  • Applied experience with communications and or advertising
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar
  • Experience in working with Cloud computing servers (e.g. AWS) and data and data science related services (e.g., RDS, S3, SageMaker).
  • Experience with audience segmentation and proficiency in commercial segmentation software (e.g., MRI-Simmons, Neilsen, Claritas)
  • Knowledge of marketing metrics, marketing principles and terminology
  • Experience in applied research as part of a government contract
  • Experience working with government agencies such as FDA, CDC, CPSC, or HHS

Salary: $108,000 – $125,000
