Position Summary
The Technical Services Department of the College of University Libraries & Learning Sciences (CULLS) is seeking a Library Information Specialist 3. The incumbent will be responsible for government documents such as processing and collection maintenance and performing complex and specialized tasks and/or services requiring advanced skills in one or more library specializations. The incumbent will monitor daily operations and participate in the development of unit operating policies and procedures. Plans, implements, and evaluates services, and establishes service standards under the guidance of the government documents department. Coordinates, prioritizes, and oversees the work of students. The work will consist of government documents collection maintenance responsibilities, such as processing of government documents, labeling, mending, shelving, and shifting and supervising student employees. The position will require troubleshooting, critical thinking, and independent judgment in close collaboration with the supervisor. The incumbent will be responsible for the cataloging of Federal and State government documents and for the maintenance of the Federal and State documents collections. The incumbent may also be assigned additional projects within Technical Services as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Superintendent of Documents (SuDocs) classification system, Library of Congress classification system, and knowledge of library materials and library operations.
- Knowledge of the FDLP guidelines and practices.
- Knowledge and experience in public services and government information in academic libraries regarding general to complex information, proficiency in library resources, and commitment to public services.
- Knowledge and experience working with the WorldShare Management Services (WMS) or other Integrated Library System; fluency in library and educational technologies.
- Ability to effectively communicate and foster a cooperative work environment.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, with strong verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
