Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with West Hills Church in Omaha, NE as they search for their next Director of Worship and Music. West Hills is a warm and inviting community of faith. The church is like a family and all are welcome to be a part of their family. The church’s facilities are extensive, well appointed, and heavily utilized throughout the week by the community and the church. Having been through the many ups and downs over their years of existence, the people of West Hills are faithful, resilient, and excited about this and the next seasons of ministry. While they are in the PCUSA denomination, they often don’t feel as if they are at home in this denomination as they are a more conservative church in their theology. This is a perfect example of the phrase, “don’t judge a book by its cover.”

POSITION OVERVIEW
Develop, supervise, facilitate, and coordinate the ministry of worship and music throughout the church. Manage and coordinate audio visual, and other technical support. Provide ongoing shepherding and ministry to the people involved in worship.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in cooperation with the Pastor to design all regular and special worship experiences.
- Lead the worship team (band & vocalists) spiritually, musically, and technically to prepare all aspects of rehearsals and worship and spaces
- Supervise and direct staff as needed
- Manages the recruitment and coordination of volunteers for worship team, ensembles, A/V/L and technical support and ushers
- In cooperation with the Elder for worship, develops and monitors the budget for worship and music ministries
- Another missionally aligned duty will be assigned based upon the person’s gifting, experience, and passions
