The Allan K. Smith Center for Writing and Rhetoric at Trinity College invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track, contract renewable, faculty position with opportunities for advancement, beginning fall 2025. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in first year composition and digital rhetoric. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition by July 1, 2025 (also considered: Ph.D. in English or related field with significant coursework or research in rhetoric and composition as well as teaching experience). Teaching load is 3/2. Initial four-year contract with 4-5 year contracts upon promotion. Competitive salary and benefits.
We seek a faculty member who demonstrates an active research agenda and teaching record at the nexus of cultural and digital rhetoric. The successful applicant will join a vibrant Writing Program and offer courses that apply a cultural lens to digital writing, teach first year composition, serve on college and program committees, advise students, and provide expertise in composition pedagogy to faculty across disciplines. We welcome applicants who embrace an inclusive pedagogy and can teach cultural rhetorics and digital writing in the context of a liberal arts college.
