Position Summary
The Catering Sales Manager at the Smoke Rise Village Inn plays a pivotal role in driving our catering business and ensuring guest satisfaction. This role is ideal for a hospitality-focused, sales-driven professional with exceptional organizational skills and a passion for delivering seamless event experiences. The position requires a proactive approach to cultivating new business, maintaining client relationships, and executing high-quality catered events.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to capture their event vision, ensuring an exceptional guest experience and building long-term relationships.
- Solicit, negotiate, and book new catering business while fostering repeat business to exceed revenue goals.
- Conduct property tours and host client meetings to showcase our venue and offerings.
- Respond promptly and professionally to email and phone inquiries, maintaining detailed logs for follow-up.
- Develop and manage client Banquet Event Orders with precision, ensuring all event details are communicated effectively to internal teams.
- Coordinate all aspects of events, including staffing, setup (tables, buffet layout, bar placement), and execution to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain a monthly calendar of events and assist in creating catering menus, pricing, and contracts in collaboration with the management team.
- Stay updated on hospitality trends and competitor pricing to keep offerings competitive.
- Build relationships with local vendors, including entertainment providers, photographers, and other service professionals.
- Act as the primary point of contact at in-house events, ensuring client needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Partner with the Dining Room Manager and other departments to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Contribute to marketing efforts, including maintaining a social media presence and assisting with promotional initiatives to grow brand visibility.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Hospitality, Sales, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
- At least 3 years of catering sales or hospitality experience, preferably within restaurants, hotels, or event management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a natural ability to connect with clients and colleagues.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple events simultaneously.
- Customer-focused mindset with a clear understanding of hospitality industry trends.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Digital Dining software is a plus.
- Social media and technology-savvy with a creative approach to marketing.
Schedule:
- Tuesday to Saturday
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events.
