This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty.

Job Description

The Cinema and Television program at Fullerton College seeks applicants for an adjunct faculty pool.

The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree or higher in film, television, or closely related field, strong teaching skills and a demonstrated understanding of and commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in the classroom. Note that this is a job pool and may not reflect current openings. The college will contact you if there is an opening and you are selected for an interview.

Teaching assignments may include in-person, hybrid and online assignments.

The instructional assignment may include, but is not limited to, teaching courses offered by our program in:

  • History of World Cinema
  • American Cinema
  • Introduction to Radio, TV and Film
  • Writing for Entertainment Media
  • Documentary Film

Minimum Qualifications

Any Bachelor’s degree or higher AND two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty’s teaching assignment
OR
Any Associate degree AND six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment
OR
Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area
OR the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Desirable Qualifications

Masters degree in film, television or closely related field.
A record of academic and/or professional creative accomplishments in film/television.
Experience teaching film history/theory courses, entertainment media writing, documentary or film/television production courses.
Online teaching certification and experience working with Canvas or similar Learning Management System (LMS).
Ability to create an inclusive and equitable classroom environment within a diverse community college setting.
