The Graphics Designer will support the Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications and the Director of Graphic Design in projects that will require art, design, copy layout and forward-thinking skills to create visually engaging concepts that promote the University’s mission through impactful and resonating artwork. The ideal candidate should possess a strong foundation in graphic design, an innovative approach to digital and AI-generated graphics, and a keen understanding of visual needs for social media. The successful candidate will actively participate in meetings with communications professionals to translate innovative and conceptual ideas into a visual medium; work collaboratively to determine visual strategies and production plans; and consult with internal stakeholders on creative solutions.
SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY:
Opportunity to supervise a graphics intern.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Internal contacts include University executives, staff and students. External contacts include media representatives, vendors and alumni.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Design and produce high-quality digital graphics for various platforms, including social media, newsletters, intranet, campus digital display boards, digital ads, website artwork, etc.
- Collaborate with the marketing and content teams to ensure visual content aligns with brand guidelines and campaign goals.
- Create visual solutions for marketing materials such as University fact sheets, educational infographics, and other collateral to inform stakeholders and enhance the reputation of the University.
- Provide support in selecting graphics and stock photography for editorial assets.
- Proficiency in creating GIFs and animated designs using tools like Adobe After Effects, Animate or similar software.
- Work with the social media team to create engaging content that drives user interaction and brand awareness.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and the specific graphic requirements for each.
- Shared maintenance of the University’s digital asset management system.
- Enforce best practices with accessibility in design.
- Excel with tight deadlines and high-stress situations.
- Understand the difference between digital and print design products and assets.
- Develop promotional marks for campus initiatives.
- Ensure all graphic content is consistent with brand standards and is of the highest quality.
- Value providing high customer service to stakeholders and demonstrate thorough understanding of the University’s visions, mission, goals and objectives.

- Highly proficient in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Canva and Adobe Spark.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts or a related experience. Minimum of two years of related experience. Experience with motion graphics and video editing and illustration skillset are a plus.
Compliance Salary Range Disclosure
Expected Salary Range: $63,636 - $70,000
