Howard University needs an Advanced Report Writer to author and maintain reports in Workday. The Advanced Report Writer will “bridge the gap” between the business and technical teams by solving complex Workday inter-system problems.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

The Office of Data Analytics is looking for a skilled and experienced Advanced Report Writer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining reports using Workday Student, a cloud-based student information system. This role requires the ability to work remotely and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Serve as primary report writer for Student Financials and Financial Aid, supporting regulatory compliance report writing for other functional areas as needed
  • Create and maintain Fiscal Operations Reports; create and maintain (FISAP) and Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) toolkits in Workday
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather report requirements and ensure reports meet their needs
  • Develop and maintain reports in Workday Student using report writer tools
  • Test and troubleshoot reports to ensure accuracy and data integrity
  • Research Workday Community for reporting solutions and best practices
  • Develop and maintain documentation for all reports created
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users as needed
  • Keep up-to-date with Workday Student functionality and updates

CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong understanding of Workday Student data structures and report writer tools
  • Experience gathering business requirements, designing, and prototyping, testing, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 4+ years of Workday functional implementation experience with Financial Aid or Student Financials modules. Experience gathering requirements, designing, prototyping, testing, and deploying solutions to meet customer requirements.

Compliance Salary Range Disclosure

Expected Salary Range: $115,000 - $125,000
