Description:
The Braintree Public School District is seeking a dynamic full-time middle school Chorus/Music Teacher. The successful candidate will direct choral groups for grades 5-8. The Chorus/Music Teacher will work closely with building administration, the director of music, and district music faculty to continue Braintree's high-quality music program.
The ideal candidate will empower students to create, perform, and respond to music. They will have an extensive knowledge of vocal technique and pedagogy to enthusiastically prepare students for a minimum of three concerts, performing well-rounded, engaging, and culturally appropriate repertoire.
The ideal candidate will guide students to become musically literate in all music classes by presenting music theory, ensemble singing, and sight-reading opportunities.
Work Year: Consistent with Braintree Education Association (BEA) Teachers contract (182 Days)
SALARY: Consistent with BEA salary schedule
Minimum Requirements:
- State Licensure in Music: All Fields, K-12 required
- Bachelor's Degree in Music required
