Job Description

Role: Web Designer

Location: Capitol, VA

Duration: 3+ Months

Rate: $55/hr on C2C (Max)

Job Responsibilities:

The new design should promote a presentation of content and actions in a clear, simple manner that efficiently guides the user to what they need. It should specify a consistent look and feel, user interface and user experience that can be used across all modes of TAX's web presence and be flexible and responsive for all viewport sizes (desktop to mobile). In addition, the design language should define a content writing style that clearly and concisely communicates with the user.

A style guide for the Tax website will specify exact attributes like color, font, button styles, etc. based on the design language guidelines.

A map will demonstrate the association of the agency website with the web applications to provide a seamless user experience.

An appropriate level of usability testing should be conducted to ensure the new design exceeds the current website in efficiency and accessibility.

Research and Planning:

  1. Review existing website and web application assets, functionality, content and structure.
  2. Review current online presence (site, applications, social media, search engine relevance, UI/UX).
  3. Assess baseline traffic and ranking.
  4. Meet with client to review analysis of the existing web presence and review the needs/requirements of the new design.
  5. Prepare and review map of a redesigned TAX website to act as a portal to our online services.
  6. Define clear, concise content and flow requirements with client.
  7. Discuss and document call to actions and navigation.
  8. Detailed list of the technology used (i.e. HTML5, CSS3, Flexbox, JavaScript, etc.).
  9. Comprehensive style guide.
  10. Page mock-ups.
  11. Working prototype.
  12. Map of how website and web applications can link/associate for a more seamless user experience.
  13. Usability test results.
  14. Any custom graphics and/or stock images used in the new design.
  15. New design will be fully owned by client.
  16. Client sign off on design.

Requirements:

  1. A minimum of five (5) years of recent experience and demonstrated superior knowledge, skills, and abilities in enterprise website UX/UI design.
  2. Experience with requirements gathering, wireframing, UX/UI design process, responsive design.
  3. Experience with industry best practices and standards for websites (508 and W3C Standards).
  4. Experience for maximizing accessibility compliance to meet WCAG 2.0.
  5. Willing to work hand-in-hand with clients in-house developers.
  6. Open to unique and innovative design.
  7. Knowledge, skills and experience to deliver the deliverables list in the details section.
