Marketing Fellowship
New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) located in downtown Newark, NJ, is the country’s most diverse performing arts center, and the artistic, cultural, educational and civic center of New Jersey — where great performances and events enhance and transform lives every day. NJPAC brings diverse communities together, providing access to all and showcasing the state’s and world’s best artists while acting as a leading catalyst in the revitalization of its home city.
We are currently hiring for our Fellows Program. The Marketing fellow’s role is to assist with digital marketing projects. The fellow will learn new systems for processing content, managing website data, analyzing social media and more. The fellow will be able to participate in performance-related media coverage and website updates.
Reports to: Director, Digital Marketing and Content Strategy
Schedule
This is an eight-week summer fellowship running June 9 to August 1, 2025
Must be available Tuesday mornings; Thursday evenings 5 – 9PM; Friday mornings 10AM – 12PM; and additional days and times to staff performances and events
20 hours per week
Responsibilities
Organize and track performance images in digital asset management system, working closely with the multimedia manager to upload and tag photos from the Prudential presents North to Shore Festival
Attend performances to support social media coverage of the third annual Prudential presents North to Shore Festival, Horizon Sounds of the City outdoor concerts and other events
Digitize the stories, images and newspaper clippings of archival content
Create concise summaries of each item
Label stories and classify by year
Participate in street team efforts by hanging posters at local establishments and identifying new places to display promotional items
Learn how to make edits to website and email marketing blasts
Track digital marketing efforts across the internet by creating links, utilizing social media analytics and labeling items in our systems to improve reporting
Market research and competitive analysis of local live entertainment and events
Like and follow relevant artists on social media
Interact with patrons to improve NJPAC’s engagement on social media
Minimum Qualifications
Open to rising college juniors, seniors, post-college graduates or graduate students
Strong initiative and ability to work effectively in a fast paced, non-profit arts environment
Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail
Self-motivation and high-level of energy
Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and Google applications (Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
Media Arts, Communications, Public Relations and Marketing majors preferred
3.2 GPA or higher
Involvement in extracurricular activities
Experience in WordPress, Canva, Falcon, MediaValet and Dropbox is a plus
Knowledge of HTML and website building is a plus
