We have a full-time opening for a Social Media & Communications Coordinator. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 8am. to 5pm.

Position Description

The Social Media & Communications Coordinator assists the Sr. Director of Marketing and Communication (SDMC) with all external communications. The position requires a high level of communication skills, both written and spoken. The role reports to the SDMC. The Social Media & Communications Coordinator should have the heart of a servant in accordance with Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Create Rescue Mission content - including but not limited to mailers, social media posts, press releases, podcast episodes and online content.
  • Manage and maintain Rescue Mission social media platforms - (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, Tik-Tok)
  • Work with SDMC to capture stories, images, and other relevant content for Rescue Mission needs.
  • Maintain and manage The Rescue Mission Podcast
  • Collaborate with HR in the recruiting process. Use creative writing skills to draft employment postings.
  • Stay up to date with current social media and online trends to ensure TRM has an effective digital presence.
Other Duties
  • Attend quarterly All Staff meetings.
  • Job performance should demonstrate The Rescue Mission's Core Values; Organizational Integrity, Organizational Unity and Organizational Effectiveness.
  • Be prepared to pray with and offer spiritual support to others.
  • Aid SDMC with managing and coordinator for Rescue Mission videos
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Aid in administrative and event needs for annual events.
Education Training and Experience
  • Associate degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in writing and communication skills
  • Podcast production experience preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced computer skills with solid Microsoft Office Suite skills, including high comfort level in Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Internet, and email
  • Experience with graphic design software, such as Adobe InDesign preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Self-motivated, self-starter and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work quickly with direction and without close supervision
  • Ability to comply with personal and business requirements and expectations as detailed in the Employee Handbook
