Job Overview

The Women's Health Promotion Specialist I provides teen pregnancy prevention, sexual and reproductive health education and outreach for diverse clients, patients and communities served by AltaMed. The Specialist is responsible for the implementation of health education curriculum for youth and/or adults, program events and special projects. The Specialist educates staff, clients, patients and their families about AltaMed programs, services and Women's Health strategic initiatives. The Specialist acts as a liaison between community members, clients and AltaMed to support access to desired healthcare services and is responsible for conducting outreach/marketing efforts to community partners.

Minimum Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree in Public health, Health Sciences or closely related field required; emphasis in Community Health Education preferred.

* Minimum of 1-year experience conducting health education in a professional setting.

* Knowledge of women's health, health promotion, family planning or closely related field required;

* Experience working with outreach techniques targeted to young adults preferred.

* Bilingual (Spanish/English) required due to population being served.

Compensation

$26.13 - $32.55 hourly
