The Vice President of Marketing Banners will lead the development and execution of shopper-focused marketing strategies for SpartanNash’s portfolio of owned retail banners. This role includes overseeing brand equity, architecture, annual strategy and planning, and the full-funnel shopper experience. The VP will be instrumental in driving demand and building customer loyalty, playing a pivotal role in transforming our retail banners and enhancing customer service. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Vision & Growth Develop and manage a long-term strategic vision and goals to drive growth and create effective solutions for our customers. Brand Equity & Consistency Establish and reinforce brand equity for retail banners, ensuring consistent identity and messaging for shoppers and throughout the organization. Monitor and be accountable for the brand health of our retail banners, market share, and ROI on marketing investments. Annual Marketing Plans Develop comprehensive annual marketing plans that leverage shopper insights in collaboration with Retail, Merchandising, Communications, and Sales teams. Creative & Media Management Oversee the planning and execution of creative and media strategies, managing relationships with agencies, vendors, and external partners. Customer Loyalty Programs Design and implement scalable and repeatable customer loyalty programs and incentives based on banner identities, customer preferences, and market trends. Team Leadership Lead and mentor a team of senior marketing leaders and professionals, guiding them in shaping the marketing strategy for each banner and brand. Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the marketing team. Additional Responsibilities Take on additional responsibilities as assigned or as the business needs evolve. Required Qualifications: Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Experience
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in marketing or a related field. At least 5+ years in senior leadership roles, demonstrating expertise in strategic planning and team leadership.
Skills & Abilities
Strong analytical mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven creativity and innovation, particularly in portfolio management. Ability to inspire and lead a marketing team towards achieving strategic goals.
Travel Requirements
Willingness to travel, including overnight stays, up to 25% depending on business needs.
