Position Purpose
Assist instructors in all phases of classroom activity, monitor studios and maintain basic studio functionality for SART courses and studios.
Description
Interns assist instructors in all phases of classroom activity; monitor sculpture, printmaking and photo studios; and serve as mentors for Studio Art students. Interns also perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair, Technical Manager, Exhibition Program Director, and Department Administrator.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College with major or minor in Studio Art.
- Knowledge of the Studio Art Department studios and program.
- Ability to be flexible and learn new skills.
- Excellent computer skills, in both Macintosh and Windows format.
- Ability to work well with a diverse staff, faculty and student body.

Responsibilities
- Act as Teaching Assistant for SART classes, including attending all classroom sessions, meeting with the instructor for preparation duties, tracking student attendance, and supporting students with their work.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in studios and labs, report issues, and assist students with cleanup.
- Work with the Fabrication Manager and Print Technician as needed.
- Follow EHS rules for safety and proper waste disposal.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
