Scope of Job
The Department of Creative Writing Program is seeking candidates for our Graduate Assistantship Program. Candidates must be accepted in the MFA in Creative Writing Program and demonstrate a commitment to working in collaboration with the department chair, faculty, other student staff members, campus and community partners, and the department Administrative Assistant. They will also complete all training for employment. Candidates with experience in creative writing event organizing, podcast production, and/or related work, are preferred.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
Maximum appointment is limited to twenty (20) hours per week (50% FTE).
- Must be admitted to a graduate degree program.
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Be registered full-time for the respective semester (nine semester credit hours during the fall semester, nine semester credit hours during the spring semester, and three semester credit hours during the summer session) or be performing supervised research with a UTRGV faculty member or be registered in the required number of semester credit hours to fulfill the only remaining requirements on the degree plan.
