Hearst Illinois is looking for a talented news designer to join its editorial design team based in Jacksonville, Illinois, in the heart of central Illinois and just a few hours from Chicago and St. Louis.
We bring life to the newspapers and special sections seen every day by readers in Jacksonville (the Journal-Courier), Alton (The Telegraph) and Edwardsville (The Intelligencer).
What we want is a fast, reliable self-starter who is passionate about the news, accuracy and the importance of visual presentation. Candidates should have a working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop and be willing to work nights, weekends and some holidays. Previous copy desk and page design experience will be pluses. A degree in journalism, communications, graphic design or a related subject is preferred.
