Education: Must possess a valid California Education Specialist Credential - Visual Impairments and/or authorization to provide specialized services related to Orientation & Mobility. Current Orientation & Mobility Certification is highly desirable or ability to obtain upon hire. Individuals currently in a program or working to obtain the VI and/or O&M authorization may be considered.


Experience: A minimum of three years of successful teaching or student teaching the visually impaired in a California school district, SELPA, or County Office of Education is preferred. Assistive Technology Certification is highly desirable or willing to obtain.

Comments and Other Information:

The employee will be a member of the California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS); LCOE does not participate in the Social Security system. Benefits will include:

  • Longevity Pay (Years: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35)
