Fire Protection Designer

6 month contract with possible extension
$60/HR (depending on experience)
Kelly Engineering is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented designer to join the fire protection team in Austin, TX. The design team strives to create the factory of the future by overseeing the design of cutting-edge large-scale equipment and utility systems in support of highly innovating manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities Work with the Fire Protection Team to prepare designs, hydraulic calculations, stocklisting and installation drawings. Manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines. Produce 3D construction drawings and 3D models for different types of fire suppression and life safety systems using Revit, HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and Navisworks Lead in-field design validation and preparation of as-built drawings. Maintain project drawing files, associated records, and documentation. Develop Revit families, standard details, and manage BIM files.
Requirements Minimum 4 years of fire sprinkler design experience. NICET certification for water-based fire protection systems layout Proficiency in 3D software, such as Auto CAD, Revit, Navisworks and Bluebeam Experience with HydraCad, HydraCalc.
