Primary Purpose
Monitor open studio/lab hours of art and design dedicated spaces and assist with ceramics course activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor student use of the designated art and design spaces during open labs/studios and clean up at the end of each shift.
- Responsible for the safety and security of the equipment in the classroom. Also responsible for turning off all equipment and verifying the room is locked and secure.
- May be asked to assist in art and design classes and events if needed, working with the student’s schedule.

- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty from diverse backgrounds.

- Ability to use software including Microsoft Office Suite and email.
Ergonomic Requirements
A flexible work schedule may be necessary due to the nature of the responsibilities. Opportunities may exist for nights and weekends. Must be able to function effectively indoors in an art and design studio/lab environment. Requires the ability to write, read written materials and computer screens, and engage in telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting up to 40lbs may be required, and the use of a ladder may be necessary.
Minimum Requirements
- Awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study for 2024-2025.
- Meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for financial aid.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ceramics media.
- Have taken ceramics courses.
- Knowledge of ceramics supplies and equipment.
