Our client, a leader in the engineering and design industry, is seeking a Substation Designer to join their team. As a Substation Designer, you will be part of the engineering department supporting various project teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative spirit, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Substation Designer

Location: Fort Worth, Texas

What's the Job?

• Assist in various phases of planning, site evaluations, analytical designs, report preparation, specifications, and preparation of proposal and construction documentation and electrical plans as part of a project team.

• Design various electrical project designs including creating electrical schematics, grid plan layouts, electrical power systems, lighting systems, protection and controls, and site and facility design.

• Prepare engineering drawings from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information using CAD software programs.

• Analyze reports, drawings, and tests to plan and design projects, ensuring compliance with design codes and specifications.

• Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files, and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field and two years of related experience, or an associate's degree and three years of related experience, or four years of progressive detailing and design experience.

• Strong understanding of design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel.

• Basic knowledge in design, calculations, and design systems.

• Ability to work collaboratively with others in a multi-discipline project team environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
