Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Grant Writer/Technical Writer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for researching, drafting, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for our organization's projects and initiatives and providing technical writing support to other staff for miscellaneous projects in civil engineering, surveying and construction fields. This role requires excellent writing, research, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies.
- Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs of the organization.
- Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization.
- Draft technical documents in coordination with engineering staff including reports, technical memorandums, procedural manuals and project proposals.
- Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.
- Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders.
- Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Experience as a Grant Writer, Technical Writer, Proposal Writer or similar role.
- Excellent writing, editing, and research skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
- Understanding of grant application processes and funding sources.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the Engineering and construction fields or similar experience.
- Experience in the non-profit sector is a plus.
- Familiarity with the specific funding needs and opportunities in the civil engineering industry.
