Overview: The Worcester Red Sox are recruiting a talented, hard-working, and motivated individual to be a seasonal Broadcast Director for our television broadcasts on NESN & NESN+.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Direct a number of Worcester Red Sox games that are shown on NESN and NESN+.
- Call for camera cuts, replays, graphics, audio, camera shading, etc. for the entirety of the game which includes a pregame show and postgame show.
- Work with the producer and Director of WooSox productions to execute a top-notch show, fulfilling all the content on the rundown while making spur-of-the-moment decisions as needed.
- Execute the show rundown, communicate with camera operators and everyone on the broadcast bench to produce a cohesive show that flows and tells a story.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Characteristics:
- 3+ years experience of directing baseball games for television/online streams.
- Worked with a multi-camera (5+) setup, insert graphics, and 2-channel replays while directing.
- Experience with Ross Control Switchers, Ross Xpression, Evertz Dreamcatcher, Audio consoles.
- Familiarity with Polar Park and the WooSox organization.
- Ability to take direction and perform tasks independently and efficiently while working cohesively on a team.
- Be proactive and maintain positive working relationships with staff and productions crew.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Possess a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, holidays) based on event schedule.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, management, executive leadership, and event managers.
Pay Range: $25 an hour
