Job Summary/Basic Function
Brief Summary of Job Position: Seeking applicants who have excellent interpersonal communication skills; high attention to detail; ability to balance multiple projects at the same time; graphic design skills; marketing skills; experience with concept development; and ability to meet deadlines. Position will be responsible for creating content to share on social media and CCEL website. Position will assist in creating graphic design and marketing materials for the Center for Community Engaged Learning office and its programs (student leadership programs, Large Days of Service, CCEL community engagement events, etc.). Other project requests for graphic designs and marketing materials from members of CCEL will go to this position throughout the academic year. This student employee will also be expected to attend regular department meetings as it aligns with their role.
Experience in visual communication. Seeking a student studying graphic design with some experience in marketing and communication. Position will not exceed 20 hours in one work week.
Preference will be given to students with the following skills: photography, brand identity knowledge, Adobe graphic design products
Position is eligible for: work-study, 50/50 program, internship, and international students.
Flexible hours.
Learning Outcomes: • Students in this position will be able to apply their current skills being taught in their academic field to this position relating to marketing, graphic design, and content design. • Students in this position will create a portfolio of the design work they create for their professional portfolio for future employment. • Students in this position will learn about non-profit, public and private sector organizations through networking, event planning, marketing, etc. to apply to real-world experience after their college career. • Students in this position will gain skills in program development, record keeping, recruitment and retention, especially to diverse populations throughout Weber State, Ogden and Davis.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: • Current WSU Student. • Taking at least six credits for summer semester or 12+ credits for fall/spring semester. • Cumulative GPA of 2.0. • Must be an undergraduate student working on their first bachelor's degree. • Some experience in graphic design and event marketing.
Skills: • Basic computer skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Fluency in industry standard software: Adobe InDesign, Premiere, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office basics. • Knowledge of prepress and printing processes. • Attention to detail and organization skills. • Time management and prioritizing tasks
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiar with Facebook, Instagram, etc. • Graphic Design • Public Relations and Advertising
