Food Service Design Studios is hiring: Design Associate in City of Syracuse

Food Service Design Studios (FSDS) is a food service consultant for commercial food service operations, focusing on involving the operator/end user in the design process. FSDS specializes in various sectors such as K-12, Higher Education, Business & Industry, Sports Arenas, Restaurants, Bars, Public Facilities, Healthcare, Camps, Churches, and more. The services offered include Building Condition Surveys, Master Planning, Feasibility Studies, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Design Associate at Food Service Design Studios. The Design Associate will be responsible for daily tasks related to developing commercial kitchen drawing layouts in Revit, creating equipment electrical, plumbing, and HVAC drawings. Also required will be communication with the team, low-level project management, some renderings and submittal reviews prior to construction. The role is primarily located in Syracuse, NY, with some work from home opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities
• Ability to understand, learn, and apply mechanical components of the equipment
• Graphic Design and Interior Design skills
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Revit (5 years experience preferred), 3-D Modeling, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Suite, and some industry programs)
• Great organizational skills
• Experience or Bachelor's degree in Design, Interior Design, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
• Previous experience in food service design is a plus
