Compensation

We’ll pay you a rate of $175.00 per episode produced.

This position requires the candidate to be local and available for on-site podcast productions.

About the Job

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Podcast Producer/Editor to join our team on a part-time contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Shalom Austin’s podcast production and editing process, ensuring high-quality audio and engaging content that aligns with our brand and goals.

Essential Functions

  1. Pre-Production
    • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm, plan, and develop podcast episodes.
    • Research topics, guests, and current trends relevant to the podcast’s focus.
    • Coordinate and schedule interviews with guests and hosts.
  2. Production
    • Record episodes, on-site, ensuring high-quality audio and a seamless recording process.
    • Provide direction during recordings to maintain flow and content quality.
  3. Post-Production
    • Edit audio files for clarity, pacing, and overall sound quality.
    • Add music, sound effects, and other elements to enhance the listening experience.
    • Create finalized episodes for publication and distribution.
  4. Distribution & Promotion
    • Collaborate with marketing to develop promotional materials (e.g., episode descriptions, social media posts).
    • Upload episodes to podcast platforms and ensure proper metadata and tagging.
    • Monitor listener feedback and metrics to improve future content.
    • Maintain an organized production schedule and meet all deadlines.

Requirements

  1. Applicants must reside in Austin, TX, or the surrounding area to be considered for this position.
  2. Proven experience in podcast production, audio editing, or a related field.
  3. Proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Audacity, GarageBand, etc.).
  4. Strong organizational and project management skills.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  7. Creative mindset with an eye for detail and quality.
