Joining our passionate, community-focused team, the role of Librarian - Community takes responsibility for:
- Serving customers by proactively identifying their needs, and recommending library resources
- Developing, promoting and delivering a variety of library programmes and services to our diverse communities
- Supporting the training and development of colleagues, particularly with digital technologies
- Assisting the leadership team to chart the team's course, and support and motivate colleagues
- Community outreach through the development of new and existing relationships
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated, customer-focused, and digitally literate.
Our ideal applicant will be:
- A library professional with a (minimum) Level 5 Library Diploma and one year's experience of working in a library or an equivalent diploma and two years' library experience.
- Great at building relationships with customers, finding ways to work together with them, meeting challenges and creating communities.
- Innovative and able to design, promote and implement programmes and services, making use of emerging technologies.
- Committed to engaging with the local community and helping diverse groups of people access information.

Hours: 37.5 - 40 hours per week.
Linwood Library is open 9.00-6.00 weekdays, late night on a Thursday until 7.00pm. Weekends are 10.00am - 4.00pm.
Hours for this position: Full-time. One Thursday late close (7.15pm) every seven weeks, and a rostered Sun-Thurs week and Tues-Sat week also every 7 weeks.
Position: Permanent, full-time.
Salary: The salary band for this position goes from $65,502 - $72,780 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
