We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Sr. GIS Analyst located in Houston, Texas.
General Description:
The Sr. GIS Analyst will be responsible for managing and analyzing geographic data to support pipeline projects. This role involves creating and maintaining GIS databases, producing maps, and providing spatial analysis to assist with pipeline planning, construction, and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Collect, organize, and maintain geographic data from various sources (MTRs, alignment sheets, survey data, etc.) Create and execute processes and procedures between the GIS department and business units to transfer data from various sources to PODS. Edit pipeline data in PODS using ESRI ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing (APR). Create and update detailed maps and visualizations to support pipeline projects. Perform spatial analysis to identify trends, patterns, and potential issues. Analyze GIS data and mapping for Engineering and project teams. Support GIS metadata creation. Prepare annual GIS regulatory submissions. Work closely with engineers, and other team members to provide GIS support. Ensure the quality and accuracy of GIS data and deliverables. Other related duties, as assigned. Qualifications:
Education and Certifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in GIS, Geography, or closely related field. Applicable years of experience may be applied for degree requirement. Strong understanding and knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS, more specifically ArcGIS Pro. Strong understanding and knowledge of the PODS data model and relational databases in general. An understanding of PODS 7 is a plus. Experience with ESRI APR is a plus. Strong understanding of the pipeline business, pipeline documents and pipeline data management. Ability to create and implement processes and procedures at an organizational level. Strong understanding, knowledge and experience with linear referencing and pipeline stationing. Strong understanding of how events work in a linear referenced environment. Knowledge and experience with python coding language and SQL is a plus. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Excel, and Visio Proficient using apple OS operating system is a plus. Skills:
