The WhatsApp In-App Content Team speaks to WhatsApp Consumer Marketing’s largest audience directly from within the app. We bring the vibrancy of WhatsApp’s global brand to an in-app audience in the billions and in up to 31 languages, with bespoke editorial ranging from breaking product news to exclusive content series (eg. Started on WhatsApp: Love Stories - an original in-app podcast we launched in ‘24). We seek an experienced and accomplished Brand Marketing Manager and storyteller to join the team, crafting content strategies that elevate the brand and drive global relevance, threading the needle for our in-app team’s participation in 360 brand campaigns, and ultimately developing best-in-class efforts that drive brand preference and engagement aligned to business and brand goals. Responsibilities Own the strategic and creative development and execution of select in-app editorial franchises/content series (mainly for the WhatsApp Channel, our most prolific always-on platform, but potentially for our other scaled programs). Bridge the gap between our in-app editorial efforts and 360 brand and partnerships moments and events, advocating for and building content drumbeats that leverage our native in-app capabilities. Partner closely with cross-functional partners across product and brand marketing, in-house and external creative agencies, consumer insights, marketing decision science, communications, and more. Lead reporting of content marketing initiatives to determine content effectiveness and drive optimizations. Surface best-in-class global content, trends and conversations to push our approach forward. Flexibility between strategic and tactical/execution responsibilities as needed, and serve as a capable representative of our In-App Content Team to the broader WhatsApp and Marketing orgs. Minimum Qualifications 7+ years of experience building content for global consumer brands or entities in brand marketing at a tech, media, or entertainment company. Experience building content franchises from the ground up, demonstrating resourcefulness and cross-functional rallying behind a shared vision. Experience working in a fast-paced environment, thriving amidst ambiguity while ensuring executional rigor. Experience developing brand content and tracking channel performance, implementing optimizations and introducing new innovative approaches as needed. An understanding of consumers, with a demonstrated experience utilizing consumer research and data to drive actionable insights to develop marketing strategies and plans. Experience with collaboration and influencing cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications BA/BS degree in marketing, journalism, or related field. A demonstrated understanding of WhatsApp as a brand and product, and familiarity with our in-app editorial efforts. Global experience working on brand content across a number of markets. Experience with creative strategy and copywriting, inspiring creative teams and agencies a plus. Compensation $122,000/year to $176,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits.
