Outreach and Education Coordinator / Grant Writer -
- Competitive Salary, based on experience.

Full-time
- Monday - Friday
- Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm
- Onsite with Availability To Be Remote One Day a Week.
Locations Available: Syracuse, NY and Albany, NY.
Position Overview:
- Excellent communication skills needed.
- Successfully write health grants and navigate them through the proper channels.
- Conduct important outreach for the clinic.
- Research in the public health field.
- Provide education on various health issues.
- Manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of preventive Occupational Health services consistent with the Center's mission.
- Collaborate within the center and with external individuals and organizations on outreach, education, research, and other projects.
- Build connections with community leaders, including union leaders and attorneys.
- Oversee ongoing development of outreach and education programs.
- Participate in the design and conduction of outreach and education activities.
- Develop a Needs Assessment to focus activities.
- Increase program awareness among target groups.
- Coordinate and oversee activities of contracted agencies for outreach services.
- Organize data necessary to support various center projects.
- Develop educational materials for distribution.
- Analyze data from research and other projects, writing results for publications and reports.
- Maintain the Occupational Health Clinical Center resource library.
- Develop grant proposals to fund specific Occupational Health Clinical Center projects.
- Respond to requests for technical assistance from staff, patients, the medical community, unions, and others.
Academic Duties:
- Teach 1-2 graduate courses/seminars for medical and public health students annually.
- Supervise master's in public health and other students utilizing the Occupational Health Clinical Center as a field placement site.
- Mentor Master in Public Health or medical students on independent research projects.
- Teach individual modules within Health Systems Science Intersession on Population Health.
Qualifications:
- Master's in public health with additional graduate-level training focused on social and behavioral dimensions of occupational health.
- Public health experience.
- 3-5 years' experience in academic and occupational health settings.
- Doctoral degree in Public Health or related social science preferred.
- High levels of initiative and commitment to occupational health.
- Passion for public health and willingness to engage in diverse duties.
- Project management skills.
- Ability to support scholarly activities in occupational health, including proficiency in relevant literatures.
- Ability to coordinate collaboration with academic and community-based organizations.
- Knowledge of research skills, including data extraction from various sources.
- Proficiency in data analysis applications (e.g., SAS, Excel, NVivo, Maxq).
- Ability to prepare written work for publication, grant preparation, and public presentations.
- Academic background beneficial.
- Willingness to travel regionally.
