Full-time

  • Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm
  • Onsite with Availability To Be Remote One Day a Week.
Setting: Occupational Health Clinical Center

Locations Available: Syracuse, NY and Albany, NY.

Position Overview:

  • Excellent communication skills needed.
  • Successfully write health grants and move them through the proper channels.
  • Important outreach for the clinic.
  • Research in the public health field.
  • Provide education on various health issues.
  • Manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of preventive Occupational Health services.
  • Conduct outreach, education, research, and collaborative projects.
Job Duties:
  • Make connections with community leaders.
  • Oversee ongoing development of outreach and education programs.
  • Participate in the design and conduct of outreach activities.
  • Develop a Needs Assessment to focus activities.
  • Increase program awareness among target groups.
  • Coordinate oversight of agencies for outreach services.
  • Organize data necessary to support the center's projects.
  • Develop educational materials for distribution.
  • Analyze data and write results for publications.
  • Maintain the Occupational Health Clinical Center resource library.
  • Develop grant proposals for center projects.
  • Respond to requests for technical assistance.

Academic Duties:

  • Opportunity to teach 1-2 graduate courses/seminars annually.
  • Supervise master's students utilizing the center as a field placement site.
  • Mentor students on independent research projects.
  • Teach modules within Health Systems Science Intersession on Population Health.

Qualifications:

  • Master's in public health with additional graduate-level training in occupational health.
  • Public health experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in academic and occupational health settings.
  • Doctoral degree in Public Health or related social science preferred.
  • High levels of initiative and commitment to occupational health.
  • Passion for public health and willingness to undertake diverse duties.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to support scholarly activities in occupational health.
  • Ability to coordinate collaboration with organizations.
  • Knowledge of research skills, including:
  • Data extraction from various sources.
  • Use of computer applications (e.g., SAS, Excel) for data analysis.
  • Prepare written work for publication and grant applications.
  • Academic background beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel regionally.
