  • Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm
  • Onsite with Availability To Be Remote One Day a Week.

Setting: Occupational Health Clinical Center

Position Overview:

  • Excellent communication skills needed.
  • Successfully write health grants and manage the grant process.
  • Conduct outreach for the clinic.
  • Research in the public health field.
  • Provide education on various health issues.
  • Manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of preventive Occupational Health services.
  • Collaborate with internal and external individuals and organizations.

Job Duties:

  • Build connections with community leaders, such as union leaders and attorneys.
  • Oversee ongoing development of outreach and education programs.
  • Participate in the design and execution of outreach and education activities.
  • Conduct a Needs Assessment to focus activities.
  • Develop methods to increase program awareness.
  • Coordinate activities with agencies contracted for outreach services.
  • Organize data to support center projects.
  • Develop educational materials for distribution.
  • Analyze data from research and write results for publications and reports.
  • Maintain the Occupational Health Clinical Center resource library.
  • Develop grant proposals for specific projects.
  • Respond to requests for technical assistance.

Academic Duties:

  • Opportunity to teach 1-2 graduate courses/seminars annually.
  • Supervise master's in public health and other students at the center.
  • Mentor students on independent research projects.
  • Teach modules within Health Systems Science Intersession on Population Health.

Qualifications:

  • Master's in public health with additional training in social and behavioral dimensions of occupational health.
  • Public health experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in academic and occupational health settings.
  • Doctoral degree in Public Health or related social science preferred.
  • High levels of initiative and commitment to occupational health.
  • Passion for public health and willingness to engage with the community.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to support scholarly activities in occupational health.
  • Skills in data extraction and analysis using software (e.g., SAS, Excel, NVivo, Maxq).
  • Experience in preparing written work for publication and grant preparation.
  • Academic background is beneficial.
